SPINNOVA
Overview:
SPINNOVA natural fibre material is white continuous filament. It is ready as-is for spinning into yarn and knitting or weaving into fabric. Their mission is to “produce the most sustainable textile materials in the world for the benefit of the environment and humanity”.
Ingredient information:
The raw material SPINNOVA use to create their fibre is the same pulp that's used for making paper. The wood comes from FSC and/or PEFC certified tree farms. They treat the pulp only mechanically, to create something called micro fibrillated cellulose; the feedstock for their process.
Sustainability credentials:
SPINNOVA’s fibre is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, contains 0% plastics or harmful chemicals and uses 99% less water than conventional cotton.
Application and use:
With the stretch and strength qualities of cotton and the insulation of lamb’s wool, it can suit apparel, footwear, accessories, home textiles and non-wovens.
