JOSHUA KATCHER

Founder

Joshua Katcher coined the term circumfauna in his award-winning book, Fashion Animals (2019) as a way to identify an entire category of finding solutions to animal materials. He's on the Board of Directors of Collective Fashion Justice (CFJ). Joshua is a designer, author, entrepreneur and educator who has taught at Parsons and LIM college. As a prominent voice in ethical and sustainable fashion, he has spoken internationally. Katcher’s work has been featured in Vogue, Forbes, GQ, The Financial Times and others.

EMMA HAKANSSON


Data Analyst

Emma Hakansson is the founder and director of Collective Fashion Justice (CFJ). She is a published writer focussing on fashion sustainability, ethics and speciesism. Emma does the mathematics behind CIRCUMFAUNA’s original calculations, produces the CFJ social media and website content.

UNIQUE VANCE
Research Specialist

Unique is the co-founder of Vegan Voices of Color, which seeks collective liberation. She is an activist for total ethics and environmental justice. She works with the Center for Biological Diversity addressing issues of sustainability and environmental racism.

JO ANDERSON


Research & Data Advisor

Jo Anderson is the Research Director at Faunalytics, a nonprofit supporting evidence-based animal advocacy. She has a PhD in social psychology and many years of experience with research and statistics. Jo provides objective validation of the data sources and calculations used by CIRCUMFAUNA.

STEPHANIE FELDSTEIN


Biodiversity Specialist

Stephanie Feldstein is the Population and Sustainability Director at the Center for Biological Diversity, where she heads a program addressing the connection between population growth, consumption and the extinction crisis. Her work focuses on equitable, science-based solutions that benefit people, animals, and the environment. She is the author of The Animal Lover’s Guide to Changing the World (2018) and her work has been featured in NPR, The Guardian, The Washington Post and others.
