VEGEA
Overview:
”VEGEA is a vegan leather made using pomace: the residue of the vinification made up of grape skins and seeds. The name VEGEA comes from the combination of VEG (Vegan) and GEA (Mother Earth). It was chosen to identify next generation of alternative materials to totally oil-based and animal-derived ones”.
Ingredient information:
VEGEA uses a high content of organic material, while the rest of the composition is of synthetic origin: 90% organic material + 10% polyurethane. While the support fabric can vary according to customer requests.
Sustainability credentials:
VEGEA showcases the ability to reduce waste and give life to fibres capable of creating sustainable technical fabrics. The production process is free from toxic solvents, heavy metals and dangerous substances for humans and the environment.
Application and use:
VEGEA it is a material with characteristics similar to leather, both visually and technically. Its main fields of application are fashion, furniture, packaging, automotive & transportation.
