To make Mylea, fungal spores grow using agricultural plant waste as food and the mycelium takes the shape of the form used. Using plant-based dyes exclusively allows MYCL to create unique colours.
Sustainability credentials:
To produce a square foot of material, the mycelia require 99.9% less water than cattle leather. Mylea also uses chromium-free dyes during the colouring process unlike mainstream tanning process.
