MILKWEED PRODUCERS COOPERATIVE
Their mission is to provide the necessary support and resources for landowners to develop milkweed cultivation. Sharing of experiences between producer members and support for tools and services to promote the development of expertise in milkweed cultivation unique in the world.
Milkweed cultivation is a profitable perennial culture offering many environmental and economic advantages.
Milkweed follicles are passed through the Fibrex to extract the fiber and seeds. The fiber is then processed for different markets by the industrial equipment of the Monark Cooperative. The particular properties of the fiber make it an advantageous and ecological substitute for various applications: vegetable “silk”, and thermal insulation.
